Review

For my review assignment I chose very similar organizations so it would be more fun to compare and contrast the differences in their website design. These organizations are all outdoor gear vendors and they all sell camping and backpacking equipment.

Zpacks

This website is very flat feeling. I chose it because it has a simple, but well presented page, that clearly identifies their most popular products. The white, clean look lets us know a little bit about who they are. I like how when you scroll to the bottom of the page, the transition from the white background into treeline is seemless.

Immediately upon entry to the website you can tell that this has a lot more going on than the zpacks website. There are moving icons that change when you hover over them. There are images with little orange circles that link you to more information. There are even embedded youtube videos. This website is very interactive

REI CO-OP

This feels like the most professional website so far. It has a pop-up that greets you upon entry to the site, and rolling ads as the first thing you see. This looks like a very well organized website and I enjoy all of the font choices.

I got a very different feeling from this website than I had from the previous ones. From a coding perspective, it seems much more basic. It already almost seems like something I would know how to code. I don't like the "ready to ship" graphic they use. It does not match the rest of their content.

I enjoy the color choices on this website a lot. Especially in their images, they all seem to reflect the default brown of their products, with little pops of orange here and there. The rain animation on the bottom of the page is very clean looking.
