Our organization is dedicated to assisting women in dire need of shelter not only with a physical shelter but assisting with emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. Zohaar intends to provide: referrals services, counseling, spiritual
support appropriate language interpreters and housing support.
Transition housing provides temporary housing for the certain segments of the homeless population including the working homeless making insufficient wages who have trouble affording long term housing and is set up to transition their residents into permanent, affordable housing.
Being without a home is the dark side of the American Experience the nightmare of what could become of us without opportunity, determination or help from our fellow citizens. As homelessness has become more visible throughout the nation, the public response has been both negative and possitive.
Research on the homeless proglem is challenged by the very nature of homeslessness. The populations make up of heterogeneous group of men, women, and children with different reasons for being without a home and varied personal resources and needs that are often unique.
Most are poor and unemployed, but some are not without job skills, some are homeless as a way of life. Many use shelters, but a significant number shun official crisis shelter. Programs, preferring instead to live in public places.
Technological progress comes with a dark side where good ideas and intentions produce undesirable results. The many and various unexpected outcomes of technology span humourous to bizarre, and even result in situations which threaten our survival.
